A southern California native and UCLA alum, Art was drawn to
the ocean and grew up surfing the southern California coast from
Ventura County to south of the Mexican border. He later
completed three Viet Nam tours where he received two Purple
Hearts while on missions aboard PAC-V Air cushioned vehicles
and riverboats before returning to school and earning a BS in
Business Management.

After his discharge from the U.S. Navy in late 1970 he met his
future wife and began his magazine publishing career. In 1983,
due to business demands, Art moved to the east coast where he
splits his time between managing Nor'Easter Magazine, the
regions leading free boating/lifestyle magazine and sailing his boat
on the Chesapeake Bay.

Only a few years from retirement, Art, his wife Marysue, and
their golden retriever Bailey, are planning to make their boat
home and sail the Intra-coastal Waterway (ICW) south to Florida
and Caribbean before deciding where they'll replant their roots.
