Ginny Meerman was born and raised in the State of Maryland and still happily resides in the "Free State". On a personal note, Ginny is married to her biggest supporter and best friend, Chris, and has four children (a 25-year-old daughter and three sons - ages 23, 19 and 16). Ginny also has two adorable grandchildren (a 1-year-old granddaughter and an infant grandson). She is a successful entrepreneur who owns two businesses - an interior design company and a property management company. Ginny has held several titles in the world of married women's pageant competitions. Her most recent title, Mrs. Virgin Islands International 2008 has her off to Chicago to compete for the Mrs. International 2008 title on July 18th & 19th. Prior to this, Ginny held the Mrs. Virgin Islands United States 2007 title and competed in July, 2007 in Las Vegas for the Mrs. United States crown where she placed in the Top 10 at that competition. She was also National Mrs. Maryland 2006-2007. She has had the pleasure of judging pageant competitions and assisting in the choreography of pageant productions. Ginny has dedicated much of her adult life to giving back to the local community and beyond. She is a child protection & rights advocate, an arbitrator for the hungry, homeless & working poor, a mentor for sexually abused teen-aged girls, and a spokeswoman representing women with heart disease. Ginny has founded two non-profits, "Friends of Food Link" and "HopeLink" and sits on the boards of various organizations in the State of Maryland as well as in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She is a proud member of Rotary International, where her local club, the South Anne Arundel Rotary Club was once again named Best Club of the Year for their district (the third year in a row!). Ginny's motivation for reaching out to offer help - and hope - to others is best summed up in her favorite saying…"To those that much is given, much is required." She feels that she is blessed and devotes her life to sharing those blessings with others. |
