Jerry Gietka

Jerry helped to MC the first annual Mid Atlantic Ujena competition. He retired several years ago from the MD Dept. of the Environment where he was a Program Manager. He also taught for a number of years at the University of MD University College Graduate school of Engineering and Management. Prior to that, he retired from a career managing operations in the Transportation industry. He earned an MBA from Loyola College and an honorary Doctorate from St. Thomas Moore college. An avid actor, he has performed or directed with the British Embassy Players, Washington Shakespeare Company, Blair Mansion Mysteries, and the National Theatre in WDC; Toby's Dinner Theatre, Arena Players, FPCT, DCT, Spotlighters, Vagabonds, and Cockpit in Court among others. You can see him on occasion on BAL city cable channel 75 hosting Top of the Morning (Telly award) and he has had his own talk radio show, Arts & Entertainment on WCBM in BAL and WNAV in Annapolis. He has also done a considerable amount of commercial and film work as well. Always looking for new challenges, he enjoys working with new playwrights to bring their script from page to stage.

 
 

 

   

Rob Kowalski

Rob Kreider

Rob Kreider is the principal trainer and owner of RK Bodies Personal Training in Washington, D.C. His fitness background began when he received a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and later became a certified strength and conditioning specialist, through the National Strength and Condition Association. Education and fitness are integral components of the philosophy he utilizes among his clientele and his own life. As an actor, athlete, businessman and model he has done well both on stage and behind the scenes. As a NPC National level body builder, he has made top placement in over 20 shows. He has also been featured as one of the Washington DC's best trainers and has made his debut in several fitness publications that include Muscle and Fitness Magazine, Flex, Muscular Development, Men's Exercise, and other print and online media. As a new comer to the silver screen, Mr. Kreider has been on the cast of the movie Full Cirle and Collide. His most recent venture is the completion of an application for use on the iPhone,iPod Touch and iPad, entitled mySupplements. Through this application he is able to share his coaching knowledge with others as the program assists athletes in measuring their progress and get information about how to supplement to for an individuals desired goal. Melissa Sayles

2009 Mid Atlantic Cover Model Search,UjENA Winner —Melissa started her career in the art industry when she was 3. She started singing lessons and then piano. At age 7 she started taking class with the renowned Wally Saunders Dance studio in Reisterstown, Maryland. While studying under him she performed Tap Around the Harbor at age 10. Melissa also performed with the Washington Conservatory of Music at Wolf Trap. When Melissa was 13 her family relocated to Arnold and she started to study with the Ballet Theater of Annapolis, under the direction of Edward Stewart. While at BTA she was in many performances such as The Nutcracker, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, and countless school performances. During her sophomore year of high school she auditioned and was accepted to attend the prestigious Baltimore School for the Arts. While at BSFA she auditioned for the world renowned Alvin Alley Dance School and was accepted to attend their summer program. Unfortunately Melissa broke her foot during the last few months of school and was unable to attend and was forced to resign from the BSFA. Melissa Continued to dance throughout her high school years including being a teacher’s assistant at the United States Naval Academy Ballroom dance program for midshipmen. She performed as a guest artist at the International Ball in 1995 and 1996. Melissa continued to take dance classes in New York City after her graduation. Some of the places include, Broadway Theater of Dance, Steps, and Alvin Alley. One of her most memorable teachers was the late Henry LeTang. He is known for his works around the world with Sammy Davis Jr., and Gregory Hines. He choreographed the movie Tap. While studying with him in Las Vegas in 1997, Melissa was asked to stay and join his traveling dance troop. She had to decline to return home to finish out her semester at Anne Arundel Community College. While attending Anne Arundel Community College she was a member of the dance company under the direction of Linda Fitzgerald. In 1998 Melissa began to teach at the Whitemarsh Ballet Academy. She left that year to join the United States Air National Guard. In 2007 she also taught at To the Point in Denton, Maryland. Melissa is still in the Air National Guard as a Medic. She is currently working with the Model Connection and Diagio Liquors as a spokes model. Melissa has been with them for 2 years. She has also been in print work for Ledo’s Pizza. Her recent TV commercial was for Rich Morton Auto and she had a speaking role. Paula Spangler

Paula Spangler was crowned in 2008 Mid Atlantic Cover Model Search,UjENA. She currently holds the Miss Timonium,Maryland International 2010 title and has also graced the runway for several Baltimore designers, calendars, and appeared in several commercials.  Paula recently starred in two television commercials for Rich Morton Lincoln/Mercury in Annapolis, Maryland. She was seen featured on Fox45 Morning News and 98Rock radio station in April, 2010 promoting the Timonium, Maryland Beer, Bourbon and Barbecue Festival. While Paula has been recently accepted the position of VIP Attendant at a high-end members-only networking club opening in Alexandria, Virginia in June, 2010. She continues to work from home as a medical editor and a stay home mom to her teenaged daughters. In the fall of 2010, Paula will take on the responsibility of East Coast Branch Manager for the Tampa-based company Memorabilia Magic.
